Altair and Vega
In the Chinese Valentine myth, a poor shepherd boy, Altair and the 7th daughter of the Emperor of heaven, Vega, were star-crossed lovers who were separated by the heavenly sovereign. The two were allowed to meet each other only on the seventh day of the Chinese Lunar month. Thus, this has been the reason for the celebration of Qi Xi in China, Chilseok in Korea and Tanabata in Japan. I find it very interesting and appropriate to give this title to Athrun and Cagalli as it reflects their conflict-filled relationship. Having both their individual duties to uphold and principles to fight for, circumstances separate them and thus, the red knight of Zaft and the princess of Orb sacrifice their own happiness for the greater good of their people, yet, never diminishing their love for one another. Whew! Sorry for the sappy-ness folks! This particular picture is featured in the chwibis' offering for this season of hearts... We present you, Gundam Seed Destiny: A Lover's Concerto.
